Ascham educates girls from Prep to Year 12. Ascham has a strong academic reputation with consistently high HSC results. Eleven students were on the All Rounders List in 2011, having achieved top bands marks (90% and above) in ten or more units. With small class sizes throughout the school, and use of the Dalton Plan, Ascham provides genuine individual attention. Seven per cent of students received ATARS of 99 or above, 39% received 95 or above and 68% received 90 or above. Boarding at Ascham teaches girls how to live in harmony with others and cultivate sound academic habits, whilst pursuing a broad variety of cultural and sporting activities. The school teaches independence of thought and action in a nurturing learning environment.
Boarding has been a central part of Ascham for 125 years and the school has one of the largest enrolments of country boarders in NSW. Ascham’s 4.4 hectares of grounds and heritage buildings provide an oasis, only 5 minutes from Sydney’s vibrant cultural centre.
