Ascham educates girls from Preschool to Year 12. Ascham has a strong academic reputation with consistently high HSC results. In 2009, all Ascham students received at least 70% in each of their HSC courses. More than 20% of students were on the All Rounders List, having achieved top band marks (90% and above) in ten or more units. With small class sizes throughout the school, and use of the Dalton Plan, Ascham provides genuine individual attention.
Boarding at Ascham teaches girls how to live in harmony with others and cultivate sound academic habits, whilst pursuing a broad variety of cultural and sporting activities. It teaches independence of thought and action in a nurturing learning environment.
Boarding has been a central part of Ascham from its earlier years and it has one of the largest enrolments of country boarders in NSW. Ascham’s 3.9 hectares of grounds and heritage buildings provide an oasis, only 5 minutes from Sydney’s vibrant cultural centre.
