Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School - Positive Change Through Education

The Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School offers excellence in education that recognises and responds to language and culture, and builds a strong sense of identity in our Indigenous young people.

At our two residential sites in the Kimberley, WA and Melboume, VIC, we work in close partnership with communities to develop the many and varied talents, passions, and abilities of Years 10 - 12 students. What we teach, and more importantly, how we teach, gives our students the knowledge and skills required for success in their communities and the wider world. Through our on-country learning experiences in the Kimberley, and rich opportunities at Wesley College, Melbourne, we are able to personalise the learning and provide pathways into employment, TAFE and university after Year 12. Placing equal value on wellbeing, industry learning and academic learning, allows our students to build respect for themselves and develop important leadership skills.

Founded on an equal partnership between the Bunuba people of the Fitzroy Valley and Wesley College, Melbourne in 2004, the school has provided valuable life skills for all its students, including our Year 12 graduates who have gone on to employment, TAFE and university.

In the Kimberley, WA, you will find us 400km east of Broome in the remote outback. Here, on traditional Bunuba country, many cultures come together to form one community that lives, works, and learns during the school term. In Melbourne, VIC, students board and attend the Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School at Wesley College, Glen Waverley Campus. Recognised as a pioneer in teaching and learning, since 1866, Wesley College offers high-quality boarding, science, arts and sports facilities.
