19 years ago we started out with one event in Dubbo.
15 boarding schools from Sydney and regional NSW put their faith in this ‘new’ model and turned up.
So did 60 rural and remote families. Some driving up to 400 km to meet with and discuss their child’s education opportunities.
From there, Boarding Schools Expo Australia (BSEA) has grown. We’ve welcomed close to 13,000 children and their families to 60 events including our renown in-person Expo’s and our virtual Australian Boarding Schools Summit incorporating exhibiting partner schools at Boarding Expo 365.
We’ve had gaps in proceedings due to crippling drought and, of course, the pandemic.
Time stands still for no one and this is particularly true of the digital mediums we now use. Back in 2005 social media didn’t exist, people still faxed each other funny memes, communication was dial up …. Internet available broadly but certainly not throughout many areas of rural and remote Australia.
The opportunities were just being explored.
Here at BSEA we have proudly established Boarding Expo 365 incorporating the Australian Boarding Schools Summit – an online summit for families at boarding school or for those families continuing to explore their options.
It’s been a very busy start up, and we are very grateful to our Gold and Silver partner schools from Victoria, NSW, ACT, Queensland and NT for supporting us to provide you with as much information and support resources as possible.
We know that the virtual medium will grow, and it is with this absolute commitment to reaching families across Australia wherever they live, that we will continue to encourage boarding schools to partner with us in delivering ‘Boarding Expo 365’.
