St Patrick’s College is a Catholic secondary school for boys located in Ballarat, Victoria. The College was founded in 1893 by the Christian Brothers under the patronage of the Bishop of Ballarat, Dr James Moore. The College caters for both day and boarding students, The College is located in Sturt Street Ballarat and is part of a recognised education precinct with its close proximity to Ballarat Clarendon College, Loreto College and Ballarat High School. The aim of the College is to support parents in educating their sons within the Catholic tradition and the spirit of Edmund Rice.

St Patrick’s is committed to maintaining Boarding as an integral part of the school where students from around Australia and overseas can experience the challenges and rewards of living together within a supportive boarding community. Our Boarders are able to participate fully in the life of the College and develop friendships that last a lifetime.

St Patrick’s College offers a ‘House’ Model for Boarding where boys live in purpose-renovated houses, supported by two live-in members of the teaching staff. This ensures that pastoral care and tuition needs are optimally met and a ‘home away from home’ environment is created for boys living within the boarding community. Non-Resident tutors also run specialist tutorials during the week for students.

There is a maximum of 24 boys in each House providing a supervision ratio of 1:12 to fully support boys who attend the College. Each of the Houses has been fully renovated to meet the needs of boys living away from home and has internet access, study, kitchen and recreational facilities.

The Boarding Houses are set in beautiful grounds in central Ballarat and form part of regional Australia’s foremost educational precinct.

Boarding students have supervised out-of-hours access to the College’s library, music rooms, indoor sports complex, weights training facility and Information Technology Laboratories.

Boys enjoy a busy, fun-filled life. It is indeed an idyllic place for young men to live, study and play!
