Leading Independent Catholic College, Excellence in Boys' Education
As an independent Catholic day and boarding school founded in 1867, Stannies is a caring community committed to the diverse education of young men from Years 7 to 12. We offer an engaging and supportive environment where students explore their values, establish a foundation for making responsible decisions and explore their definitions of self. They learn to forge healthy relationships, contemplate who they are and want to become, and are invited to step out of their comfort zones and explore their full potential.
Stannies understands and celebrates boys. We know that boys develop and learn differently, so we teach in ways boys learn best. We aim to educate the whole person. Our Transformative Learning philosophy is about building individual strengths in our students. A keystone to our learning culture, and embedded in all teaching faculties, is the 4Cs learning disposition – creativity, critical reflection, communication and collaboration.
Our boarding students continue to grow and thrive academically. Stannies Boarding Staff strive to ensure the boarding environment reflects a caring, family-like environment based on trust, cooperation and open communication. We aim to provide each student with a safe, caring place to live, learn and enjoy. Each student has the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities from academics to sports, as well as social and cultural experiences, develop into mature young men, find their independence and build life-long friendships.
The College has a strong reputation for its skill and dedication to sport. As a member of the ISA (Independent Sporting Association), students can compete against some of the best schools in New South Wales. Students are regularly transported to Sydney to compete in sports such as Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Swimming and Touch Football. Strong Chess, Debating and Public Speaking teams also have outstanding success year after year. The Creative and Performing Arts showcases the talents of students involved in drama and music to our community with the annual combined college musical and the College play.
St Stanislaus’ College is committed to providing experiences to develop our students into well-rounded young men. The main campus is set on 38 acres near the centre of Bathurst, and a 50-acre farm within walking distance of the College provides students with a comprehensive education experience.
