Downlands College is an independent, Catholic, coeducational, day and boarding school for students from Prep to Year 12.

Established in 1931 by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC), our heart-centred approach promotes academic excellence, encouraging students to integrate faith with life and to develop a love of learning. Downlands is a place where one’s heart can find a home - where students can grow and flourish as they develop a sense of truth, goodness and beauty and so be ready to go out and to make a difference in the world.

As a coeducational school, Downlands reflects the diversity of our society and provides an excellent foundation for the development of meaningful, realistic and lasting relationships in later life. Our 38 hectare campus, located 20km from the Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport, is a great choice for families. Downlands is a place where siblings and cousins can grow up together, forming memories that last a lifetime.

Situated in a superb location in the regional Queensland city of Toowoomba, Downlands offers the broadest curriculum in the region and offers a huge range of sporting and cultural opportunities so that students are challenged and encouraged to achieve their very best. Students have access to a full range of facilities often found only in large cities, yet the College is in a peaceful setting of beautiful avenues, parks and gardens.

Our onsite farm means we can conduct one of the strongest Agricultural programs in the state and our energetic and very successful Cattle Show Team travels throughout Queensland representing the College at local shows and at the Ekka in August.

Boarding students at Downlands travel vast distances to attend our College - from Darwin in the Northern Territory through to Armidale in the south and the many towns and cities in between, from Brisbane to Kowanyama, Thargomindah and Longreach. Casual or weekly boarding options are also available to families.

Our many day students either live in Toowoomba or travel in from Allora to the south, Crows Nest and beyond in the north, Rosewood in the east and west to near Dalby. Some of these students use casual boarding from time to time to reduce the amount of travel each week and to take advantage of supervised study at night.
