Oh wow it’s been a while since I’ve been here. I came out of the 2025 ‘gates’ like a thoroughbred, so impressed with myself that while the rest of Australia was on ‘go slow’ I was still sending out comms 🤩 …. well bring on February and it’s been radio silence from me! I blinked and, well, I missed it (with a big summer holiday thrown in).
Here we are mid-March (yes you better believe it) and we’re just around the corner from our first Expo event for this year. Emerald, QLD here we come! Our first ever event for central Queensland and wow! The response has been so heartening. Queenslanders you are completely on board with our format aren’t you? The feedback I’m receiving here at HQ is that the opportunity to ‘only’ travel a few hours (rather than 10 or 15 or so…) and talk about your child’s education with 22 schools under one roof is welcomed with open arms.
One of those schools is featured here today, NEGS Armidale (NSW) – our one and only NSW school heading to Emerald to meet Queensland families. While this may seem unusual to some, for NEGS it makes perfect sense.
NEGS has a long history of educating daughters from our most remote regions. Their equine program is definitely an attraction for many families from our northern states, (you can discover more about this below). Armidale is well located to hold appeal for our Queensland families and we’re thrilled they’re coming to our first event for 2025 in Queensland.
Thank you to so many of you for your positive feedback regarding our podcast Destination Boarding. The podcast exists to support boarding kids and their families along with the schools themselves and we’ve got more great episodes coming up including further discussions with Dr Lisa Fahey OAM, a psychologist who specialises in teen mental health challenges. And of course Richard Stokes, CEO of the Australian Boarding Schools Association (a Member organisation that provides the professional learning and sets the industry standards of our Australian boarding schools).
I’ll be back in your inbox soon with tons of great stuff about parenting boarders, boarding schools in Australia, our events coming up and of course, my much anticipated ‘things I’m loving’.
Today, get to know why NEGS Armidale has Queensland and Northern Territory families heading to NSW.
