Genazzano FCJ College – A Catholic Day and Boarding school for Prep to Year 12 students
Genazzano’s boarding facility, Hopetoun Hall, offers a happy and nurturing home for girls from country Victoria and interstate and for the daughters of expatriate Australians. Located three kilometres from the college in the beautiful, leafy, inner-eastern suburb of Camberwell, Hopetoun Hall is a short tram journey away from the College. The off-campus location provides boarders with a sense of ‘going home’ at the end of each school day.
The modern 45-bed residence provides a secure, comfortable, caring and supportive Catholic environment for students attending Genazzano from Years 9 to 12. Year 9-11 accommodation is twin share and Year 12 students are accommodated in individual purpose-built rooms.
Boarders are encouraged to involve themselves in all facets of college activities. Hopetoun Hall students are well represented within the College community as prefects, house captains, performers, members of sporting teams and as recipients of academic honours.
Parents are an essential element in their daughters’ boarding journey. Even though affected by distance, one cannot underestimate the importance of positive relationships between boarders’ parents and house staff in fostering a successful boarding experience for our students.
Genazzano offers an extensive sporting program including tennis, softball, volleyball, netball, hockey, water polo, basketball, cross-country, athletics, swimming and skiing. An exceptional rowing program is also available which achieves outstanding results each year. Aerobics, fun running, aqua aerobics and badminton are among leisure options available.
