Mother/Daughter Mother/Son Father/Daughter Father/Son
I know a place where mothers and fathers actually come and live with their sons and daughters in the boarding house.
Welcome to life as a boarder at Ballarat Grammar.
So you think you know what it is like to be a boarder?
Beach trips, Swimming Sports, Athletics, Snow Trips, Mother/Daughter Weekend, Mother/Son Weekend, Father/Daughter Weekend, Father/Son Weekend, House Picnics, Bush Fire Recovery days, House Dinners …
Being from the land, our boarders understand the ravages of fire and what is required to begin the long haul back from such an experience, so it’s into the school buses for several weekends and off to pull down burnt out fencing. As often happens, unexpected outcomes result from such adventures. The overwhelming sentiment expressed by fire victims was the breath of fresh air and optimism which our boarders brought to communities very much in need of emotional uplifting, as well as the more obvious physical resurrection of their properties.
So what is a Mother/Daughter Weekend anyway?
Well Mum comes to school and lives in the boarding house for the weekend. This is a wonderful way of getting to know other parents and friends of your daughter. Much fun can be had when a house full of Mums and Daughters get together.
Boarding at Ballarat Grammar is a vibrant, responsive, involving experience in a caring community.
