PLC Sydney is a school for girls with boarding from Year 7, offering a broad curriculum to students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Founded in 1888, the College is set within 4.4 hectares of landscaped grounds and retains its nineteenth century heritage buildings and gardens. Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Sydney aims to educate young women from the basis of a Christian world view to make a difference in a rapidly changing global society.
School facilities include an aquatic institute with indoor heated pools, Performing Arts Centre with 538 seat auditorium and teaching space for Music and Drama, state-of-the-art Science facilities, Research Centre, Olympic size gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts, oval, assembly hall, programmes for gifted and talented students, Extension Centre, music centre, careers and resources centre, health care and a visual and creative arts centre.
The College caters for the needs of gifted and talented children, for those needing extension learning and for those with learning difficulties. A School Counsellor, Chaplaincy Team, Deans of Students, Nursing Sister and Careers/Tertiary Entrance Adviser are available. Pastoral Care is also delivered through the tutor groups and House system.
Wireless network connection is available extensively throughout the grounds, including a dedicated secure network exclusively for boarders, allowing the students to keep in touch with family and friends at home.
