Ballarat Clarendon College’s high expectations
yield exceptional outcomes
Ballarat Clarendon College is a Uniting Church co-educational day and boarding school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The 1200 students come from Ballarat, country Victoria, Southern NSW and a small number from overseas. It has adopted the following focus statement: Throughout each student’s time in the College our focus is to build personal mastery within each person so as to maximise the competence, skills and capacity to choose their heart’s desire when they stand at the threshold of their future.
The College has over the last six years achieved the most outstanding performance of any regional school. It also strives to develop the whole individual by maximising the students’ talents in all areas of school life: personal, social, sporting, spiritual and of course academic. This enables our students to look at a range of career options with confidence and to choose their heart’s desire.
The co-curricular program includes options in the performing arts, visual arts, debating, sport, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and community service.
Year Nine students spend a term at the Grassy campus on King Island effectively becoming short term boarders. This experience empowers students with skills of social competence and global awareness needed to actively participate in their world.
The recently refurbished Boys’ and Girls’ Boarding Houses accommodate 70 boys and 70 girls. They enhance the learning experience and provide access to facilities in technology, music, drama, art and sport. Boarders are able to live in a place which is dynamic, yet very much a place for relaxation and care.
